Calling all aspiring veterinarians, scientists, and young naturalists! In the Discovery Center, children and adults will explore the wonders of our natural world. They'll enter a whimsical play space designed to connect our youngest visitors with nature to build a conservation ethic that lasts a lifetime.
Discovery Center Highlights:

Children can conduct check-ups on animal puppets on a real veterinary table complete with a light tables, radiograph images, and other tools. Lab coats are provided!
Litte Animals, Big Discoveries
The Discovery Center is home to a variety of animals including a mud turtle, african striped mice, map turtles, a tarantula, great horned owls, and seasonal animal guests.
Whimsical Camp Site
Cook food on a "campfire," gather in the tipi to read nature books with our woodland stuffed animal friends, and learn about what it's like to sleep in the great outdoors.
Woodland Animal Stage
Put on a play, right at the zoo! Kids can gather on the stage dressed in animal costumes or hide behind the puppet stage to put on a conservation play for all of the Discovery Center guests.
The Scoop on Poop
Otherwise known as “scat” in the zoo world, poop is an important clue for tracking animals and learning about their ecology. Here, children can match different kinds of scat with the animals that deposit them.
